Jon and I attended the prenatal class last weekend where we learned all about the labor and delivery and what we should expect. It helped me a lot and made me 100% more comfortable about the whole process. Jon on the other hand got more nervous about the whole thing after learning what I'd be going through. He doesn't do well in situations where I'm in pain and he can't do anything about it. If he had his way I'd get the epidural and the process would go oh so smoothly.
I felt bad bursting his bubble but sometimes a womans just gotta do what feels right. I really don't want any medication if I don't need it. I keep trying to reassure him that everything will be okay and that I will follow all the doctors orders during the delivery of our little guy. If the doc says I need medication, I'll take it. Jon doesn't seem any calmer about the whole thing though.
We'll just have to wait and see what happens! Luckily I get to sit in a jacuzzi during labor which makes me feel relaxed already. And I've been using music as a relaxation tool every night to program my brain to relax when I hear a certain classical CD. Hope it all works for me. :)
Only 11 more weeks give or take until our little baby arrives! :)

Twiddling Thumbs
So with the baby room completely finished, most of the big things bought, clothes ready to be worn in all shapes and sizes, and the diapers ready for the filling...there isn't much more that Jon and I can do to get ready for the baby. Jon's brother called us "overachievers" and I think he's right. Today marks the first day of my third trimester and we have nothing to do but wait. Hopefully the time will fly by. We are attending a few classes to help us prepare for the labor and the breastfeeding. I'm going to try my best to go unmedicated as I fear loss of control of my lower limbs. We'll see how I do though. Encouragement from everyone would be greatly appreciated! All I keep hearing are sarcastic "Good lucks" and eye rolling. Come on people!
Ah well though. We'll see what happens. As long as I can have a tub to relax in as I'm in labor I think I will make it through. But, I'll find out if I can have one of those in a week. I'll keep everyone posted. :)

It's Yardwork Time Baby!
So Jon and I spent the morning doing loads of yardwork now that the snow has melted, for the 2nd and hopefully final time. We weeded flower beds, stirred some dirt around, put mulch down, sprayed off our patio, picked garbage out of the gravel and yard, and Jon fertilized and put seed on the lawn. It's looking pretty good and it can only get better the more we work. Can't wait until next Saturday! :)
