What's That For Anyway?

Well we had quite the adventure this weekend. Jon and I started driving to Idaho around 9:15 am and twenty minutes later Jon was having a tummy ache. No big deal. We got to Idaho at noon and the pain was still an ache. Jon ate lunch and we chatted with the family and then Jon's pain intensified quite rapidly. We had no idea his appendics was the culprit. But it was. We left Shelley at 6:00 pm and I drove 90-100 mph all the way to Logan to take Jon to the hospital. Yes we could have gone to a closer hospital but Jon felt more comfortable going close to home. We got to Logan at 8:00 pm and the ER doc ran tests. By 10:30 pm Jon was in surgery getting that dumb organ out. The surgeon was flabbergasted at how "chronically inflammed" it was. He hadn't ever suspected it would be that bad. He asked me if Jon had been suffering in pain long and I told him no, just today. He was still stumped. Jon either has a high threshold for pain or this was just a very tempermental appendics. Jon stayed in the hospital overnight and did really well. We got to go home by 11:00 am on Sunday. He's doing well at home too. Sometimes he overdoes it just a bit and ends up needing to lay down for quite a while. But he's a tough guy. If you want to see pictures go to Jon's Facebook page. It's quite nasty so be warned.
